This edition of Pulse calls for stories woven into the clothes we wear each day - of labour, inheritance, identity, memory, and time. Who made them? Who wore them before you? What do they reveal about your identity to the world? Will they be carried forward into another life, or disappear into the growing landscape of fast-fashion waste?
We invite submissions in the form of photographs, illustrations, animations, writing, and films that critically and creatively interrogate how and why we dress, and what clothing has meant across centuries. From personal narratives and archives to speculative visions and anti-fashion gestures, we’re looking for work that treats fashion as history, performance, resistance, and sustenance.
