Today, food serves as a living archive: the smells and textures we carry with us, the memories and traditions we inherit, the notes and treasured moments we leave behind, perhaps even a brew of what we long for in an imagined future. Whether passed down as recipes or shared around tables, food marks identity, negotiates belonging, and traces the invisible threads that bind us to others across time and place.

In this issue, we invite you to explore the many meanings and memories food holds. The rituals, stories, and cultures folded into each meal. What does food remember that we forget? What does it say about who we are, where we’ve been, and where we might be going?

We welcome submissions in writing, photography, design & illustration, video, and audio that engage with food in its many forms whether sustenance, symbol, story, protest, or art. Share with us your recipes, recollections, and reimaginings – whether a dish that carries home in its flavor, a photo essay of shared meals, or a soundscape of kitchens across continents.

This zine is a gathering of fragments. Drawn from the submissions in this volume, each element is inspired by a dish, motif, image, line, memory, story or moment held, from the featured pieces, selected to capture its essence. Together, they form a small tribute to the food, themes, textures, and emotions that surfaced across th edition. An accompaniment to the issue, and a prompt for further food for thought.
