City in Four Beats

Concept Note

I tend to notice things; the way people move through a space, how they talk, wait, or pass each other by. For me, soundscapes aren’t just about music, but about the everyday noise of people simply living their lives. I’m fascinated by how different we all are, the stories we carry, and the ways those stories briefly overlap in public spaces. That’s why street photography feels natural to me. It lets me capture people in their essence, without staging or expectations.

These photographs, all taken in San Francisco, a city very close to my heart, are my way of listening to the city. Passing strangers on a crosswalk, I’ll never see again, a tram standing still and silent in the middle of one of the busiest streets, families enjoying their Sundays in the park, and in a record shop, a short conversation turned into fifteen minutes of stories, just enough to glimpse another life. These are the sounds and stories that shaped this series.

Together, these photos form the ‘City in four Beats’. Each one felt ordinary on its own, but when I look back at them together, they remind me of the way a city can sound and feel in just a single day.
