Wasted Food

Illustration
Tarini

Concept Note

This artwork critiques modern consumption by juxtaposing leftover food with symbolic objects, Pearls spilling from a pea represents excess wealth and casual wastage of food. The lifelessness of the fish submerging into the orange peels encourages reflection on how our consumption choices connect to topics like life, death, and responsibility. In contrast the ants disrupt the scene, symbolizing those who struggle for basic access to food. All together these elements show the contrasts between abundance and scarcity, making the audience questing their relationship with their food.
